Highlanders: No Official Offer From Pirates Yet

Despite reports linking Zimbabwean young midfielder Prince Ndlovu to Orlando Pirates, his Zimbabwean side Highlanders FC has said there is no official offer or interest tabled to them.
In an exclusive interview with The African Chronicles, Highlanders FC CEO Denzel Mnkandla said that he can neither confirm nor deny the reports, as there is nothing official on the table from Pirates.
“Yeah, I’ve just also been seeing these rumours about Prince. Unfortunately, at the moment, there is not been no formal communication between Orlando Pirates and ourselves, Highlanders, regarding Prince. So, unfortunately, I can neither confirm nor deny if there is such interest,” Mnkandla told Soccer Laduma.

Meanwhile, the CEO further indicated that they are not ruling out any move for the 19-year-old to not only Pirates but any other team.
“Prince is a good young player with very good potential, and we were actually planning to include him in our squad; he’s coming here. However, with transfers, anything can happen, and ultimately, if the player feels they are in the right moment to move, then we cannot stop that. But like I said, unfortunately, we haven’t yet had any formal, you know, written uh interest from Orlando Pirates. But yeah, well, history will tell you that Highlanders always sell players to South Africa. Most recently, we sold Mason Mushore to Amazulu. So we have got a good relationship with South African teams in terms of player transfers and we hope that continues,” Mnkandla observed.
The 19-year-old midfielder is believed to be the next best player to come out of Highlanders FC, which has in the past produced players like the legendary striker Peter Ndlovu. The midfielder has, in the past, spent some time on trials with Orlando Pirates before travelling to Europe for more trials.
